We arrived in Barbados a few days before the ship sails, so we had plenty of time to explore the island. Here are some of the highlights . . . .
Our home-in-Barbados is the Blue Dolphin -- in Dover . . . on the first "terrace" (just above St. Lawrence Gap).
The guys stayed in the Guesthouse:

Our explorations took us to . . .
the Garrison and town Cricket Pitch;
the University of the West Indies (UWI), with its great views,
awesome student housing (with those same views!), and the requisite cricket pitch;

sugar factories;


and even an oil field (producing ~1000 barrels per day -- refined in Trinidad and brought back to Barbados for local use.


What else???? How about the "Super Gun" and carbonate/sea level geology? Good stuff. But more about that later. The pre-departure safety video has put me to sleep. More tomorrow.
